China Gunpowder Temple of Heaven Organic

Gunpowder of the highest quality is made of carefully selected tea leaves, rolled in little tea balls. As a general rule smaller balls stand for a better tea quality. Chinese name for this tea is Zhucha, which means “pearl tea”. Since tea leaves have been pressed into balls, they maintain freshness longer. For a cup of tea we take only half a teaspoon of leaves, or the tea will become too strong. The prepared tea is full bodied with a slightly honey-like taste and a smoky aftertaste that lingers in our mouth. Some find the first infusion too strong and pour it away to enjoy the second, which is softer and more drinkable.
