Top quality and widely appreciated Japanese green tea also named the Pearl dew. Compared to Sencha, this tea is produced in a very limited quantity, making up for only one percent of the entire tea production in Japan. At the time of their sprouting, tea bush buds are covered with bamboo screens for about three weeks, allowing young tea leaves to mature and develop in shade, which gives the tea an intense green colour and a sweeter taste. Our GYOKURO tea is made from ASAHI cultivar; only the tenderest buds are plucked and afterwards hand rolled. They are high in amino acid teanin and chlorophyll. The tea is grown in Sanshu Seicha estate in Kagoshima Prefecture. The liquor has a rich aroma and a complex taste. In Japan they drink Gyokuro on special occasions to demonstrate respect to their guests.
