Pu Erh tea

This is a peculiarity among teas, a category into itself. It is a green tea, but blacker than any black tea there is. A general rule is: the older, the better, and the more expensive. We can presume it resembles the ancient teas drunk in China a thousand and more years ago. It is a green tea that is additionally moistened, fermented with microorganisms, and stored in warm and humid place. During this process the tea changes completely, with microorganisms turning it into one of the most mysterious and famous Chinese invigorating beverages. It is of chestnut brown to black colour, mild taste, and unusual earthy aroma. Pu erh is not consumed so much for its invigorating effect and even less for its taste, but because of its influence on our general health and disposition. According to traditional Chinese medicine it is famous for its balancing power, as it is neither Yin nor Yang, but straight in the middle. We can be either Yin or Yang, drinking pu erh will improve our balance and bring us closer to good energy, well-being, and happy, open disposition. Pu erh stimulates the liver functions, increases elimination of toxines from the body, and accelerates lipid metabolism. It increases awareness more than the green tea, and all of its characteristics can be further boosted with physical exercise following a cup of pu erh tea.  Our pu erh tea has been aged for about one year.
