English Breakfast black tea

A classical tea blend of black tea consists of Ceylon, Assam and East-African teas. Ceylon provides the aroma, Assam the power, and East-Africa its colour. The strong infusion makes you feel good – as its name suggests – in particular in the morning, together with a classical English or any other type of breakfast. It also works well with a drop of milk. Opinions on the origin of the name given to the blend are divided. However, it is a fact that the tradition of blending different sorts of black tea for “a morning cuppa” has a long history in Great Britain. Based on literary sources the name English Breakfast Tea has first appeared in New York. It was used by an English merchant, who immigrated to New York, and chose to name its blend the English Breakfast Tea. Even today we still know many varieties of tea that go under this name.
